So at what point do you start listening to the people around you and stop listening to yourself? I really love black and white photography. When I close my eyes and thing of myself as a photographer, this is what I want to do. But every time I talk about my work… my color photography is what get’s praise. I don’t mean this to toot my own horn. I work very hard at what I do, I take it seriously and I have been doing it for a long time now. So, if someone likes my work I am very grateful, but I am also very, validated. But it’s always the “buts.” “But, your black and white work is good too, but the color…” AND, if I am honest with myself the black and white ain’t there yet. Getting there, trying to be there, but not THERE… wherever there is. So, there it is. Not quite there yet and who knows when it ever will be. Over 2/3 of my website is my BW work… is that my best foot forward?
